On 27 APRIL 2011, kc6ooe moved his QTH from San Diego, CA to Hawthorne, Nevada. Presently working RTTY & AMTOR on 20M and 40M.San Clemente Island
Dec. 13, 2008: Beginning Jan. 2, 2009 station KC6OOE will be operating from the new base station on San Clemente Island, 60 nm offshore southern California. San Clemente Is. is the southernmost island of the Channel Islands group. Other islands in the group are Santa Catalina, San Nicolas, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, Santa Barbara, and Anacapa Is. IOTA island group NA-066 comprises the four southernmost islands - Santa Barbara, San Nicolas, Santa Catalina, and San Clemente. San Clemente Island is a US Navy reserve and is home to the Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE). For that reason, KC6OOE, one of the only amateur radio stations to ever be authorized to transmit from the island, offers DX'ers an opportunity to receive credit for this rare QTH. For more information on San Clemente Is. and its tenant organizations, please visit www.scisland.org.
